ACT Government free home energy assessment pilot program

Better understand your home’s efficiency and how you can save on energy by taking part in this pilot program.

07 June 2022

As an ACT Sustainable Household Scheme participant, you’re invited to take part in the ACT Government’s free home energy assessment pilot program.

Through personalised home energy assessments, this program aims to help homeowners better understand their home’s efficiency and how they can save on energy.

There are 100 spots available in the pilot. Register today to secure your place by following the steps below.

About the pilot program

The Sustainable Household Scheme will be piloting the National Residential Efficiency Scorecard assessments to help households better understand:

  • the factors influencing the energy consumption and cost of their homes
  • how to save money on energy bills
  • how to improve efficiency through cost-effective upgrades

How does it work?

You will be contacted by an accredited Scorecard assessor who is working on behalf of the ACT Government. The assessor will visit your home to collect data and calculate an efficiency rating of your home. Following the assessment, you will receive a certificate that includes:

  • a star rating out of 10, which represents the energy efficiency of your home
  • a performance rating of key elements of the home, such as insulation, hot water systems and major appliances
  • a performance rating of the home in hot and cold conditions
  • options for improving the rating of the home

Where can I find more information?
